For a change of pace, walk or jog along the waterfront Embarcadero, easily accessible via the F-line streetcar, three blocks from the hotel.

"Very good location"

"more than impressed"

"Really Disapointing Stay"
My Fiance and I stayed at the Grand Hyatt in San Francisco the night of May 4th 2013. This was a special occasion as this was the night that I had planned a proposal to her. Initially we were impressed by the hotel, it was clean and well laid out. The major upsets came with out interaction with the staff. The front desk was slow, very slow, the operator […] on the hotel line was rude and finally the Bar Manager was both condescending and rude to us. We came back to the bar after our engagement to have a couple of drinks and were asked to leave after we knocked one drink over, following that we were reminded that we had to leave, shortly after Room Service told me that they had closed so I would have to procure a bottle of champagne from the hotel bar at which point the manager again refused us service. First off, I had 5 drinks total that night. Second, accidents happen. Third, I'm a guest and thus a resident of the hotel. Fourth, it's a bar. What gives this guy the right to assume it's OK to kick a guest out of a hotel bar for knocking over one glass, refuse him service and then refuse the sale of a bottle of champagne especially on the night he gets engaged. "Perfect location!"

Hotel is in a very convenient location, close to major attractions which are easy to get to either by bus or walking. Our bed was very comfortable. Room was well maintained. The hotel offers free basic wifi, but for whatever reason it is not listed under amenities nor were we told during check-in. "Average at best"
Room service good, but that's about it. I was given a room with a connected door and when I first arrived to the room, the door was open & unlocked. Also, I left dirty towels in the bathtub to make it easier for housekeeping to clean up & replenish with new towels. "make it your base in SF"
You know when you walk up to the front door with the friendly greeters that you will be well taken care of here at the Grand Hyatt. It's a big hotel but it is definitely a class act and superbly located. "Great location, fantastic view and service"
I would recommend this hotel. Parking is just across the hotel with discounted rate for guests. View of our room was fantastic. I would recommend getting the package with access to VIP lounge. We were so impressed with the 24 hour service and the fantastic view! Location, minutes away from the shopping malls, boutiques and Chinatown. Impresive hotel […] service. We enjoyed the hotel very much but we can't say the same about the restaurant. The food was served cold, oatmeal tasted like it was taken out of refrigerator and toast was hard as a board. We ate breakfast from the menu two days because we were trying to get away from the buffet because of that reason and the food was tasteless and cold. We also wouldn't […] eat there for other meals because the simple breakfast was so bad. I would not recommend anyone to eat in the restaurant. "Great Location!"
We decided to head to San Fransisco for a getaway and found a great deal at the Grand Hyatt Union Square. Great location; easy walking distance to China Town and Market Street and a short cable car ride to North Beach. The service was excellent from valet parking to the reception desk staff. "Highly recommended"
Our stay here was fantastic! E room was extremely clean and updated. We were on the 29th floor with an awesome view of union square. The hotel staff were extremely helpful! I had a later flight on my last day and they were very accommodating in allowing a later check out time. The gym facilities were top notch. "Not 4 stars"
The only thing 4 star about this is the view from the gym. But the machines dont work consistently so that's a drag. The rooms are very very 3 star. Very clean but cheap veneer and no necc toiletries or robe. I had just stayed in Grand Hyatts in korea and thailand and they were twenty times nicer. "Great location, new renovations"
Stayed at the same Grand Hyatt 3 years ago and wow is it different! Rooms and lobby have been renovated. Check-in a breeze, room was clean, and location was spectacular. Had the breakfast package. Internet was remarkably slow, and I paid the "basic" 9.95/night charge. Should have selected the next highest option or the most expensive "premium" for wifi, but I was only downloading emails and using the web. Very frustrating.
